Lydia McEwan provides therapy for children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, life transitions, identity concerns, and emotional overwhelm. She offers a compassionate, client-centered space where clients can feel supported, understood, and empowered to move toward healing and meaningful change.
Lydia works with children, teens, and adults who may be feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. She enjoys helping children and teens better understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel more confident and supported in daily life. She has experience supporting clients navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other co-occurring concerns. She also works with members of the LGBTQ community and is committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in connection and draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. She also incorporates mindfulness, meditation, nature-based support, and mind-body awareness to help clients build resilience, increase self-understanding, and strengthen their connection with themselves and others.
Lydia earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UNC Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before her clinical training, she worked in special education and taught first grade, experiences that deepened her understanding of growth, development, and the importance of meeting people with patience and compassion. In her clinical work at Orem’s Center for Change, she has supported clients working through eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and related concerns.
Lydia considers it an honor to walk alongside clients in their healing. She is committed to providing care that is warm, empowering, and grounded in genuine human connection.
