Currently Has Openings

Makayla is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor who provides therapy for children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions. She offers a warm, supportive space where clients can feel understood, cared for, and empowered as they move toward healing and growth.

Makayla works with children who are learning how to express and manage big emotions, teens who may feel overwhelmed or unsure of themselves, and adults who feel stuck or are navigating life changes. She believes that each person has an innate capacity for growth and resilience and is passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and supported.

Her work with children is grounded in child-centered, play-based approaches. Through play, children are able to express emotions, process experiences, and build confidence in a way that feels natural and safe. Makayla has a special interest in helping children navigate anxiety, life transitions, and emotional or behavioral challenges, while also partnering with caregivers to strengthen connection and support meaningful change at home.

Makayla received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Brigham Young University, where she also minored in music and developed an appreciation for strength-based approaches to counseling. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Utah Valley University, where she trained at the UVU Community Mental Health Clinic supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and behavioral needs.

If you are looking for support for yourself, your child, or your teen, Makayla would be honored to walk alongside you.
