Play Therapy

Play Therapy is a form of therapy used to communicate with children and vice versa. It is typically used for children the ages of 3-12.  Toys, arts, directive and non-directive play are used to address specific challenges. As a well known play therapist said, “Toys are like the child’s words and play is the child’s language (Landreth, 2002).”

Individual Therapy

In Individual therapy, the client and I will be working on a one-on-one basis with a plan to make positive changes in their life.  My goal is to make sure clients of all ages feel safe and comfortable in opening and sharing their concerns. Many come to therapy for a variety of reasons ranging from unhappiness, anxiety, and working through past trauma.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy is used to reduce distress and conflict by improving the interactions between family members. As a family therapist it is preferable to have all family members present, but I also recognize that it is not always possible. The difference between family therapy and individual therapy is how the problems are viewed as a pattern or systems that need adjustment.

Couples Therapy
